Key responsibilities & impact

Lead architecture for booking and finance product infrastructure, including booking and scheduling flows, financing application integrations, and financial collection and reporting pipelines
Build and scale backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL
Ensure security and compliance for money and personal data, including PCI DSS scope reduction, GDPR, CCPA, and audit-ready logging
Collaborate with engineering, product, and finance on APIs, data contracts, and reporting feeds
Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, architectural reviews, and technical direction
Write code, own architecture, and shape the technical direction of a growing engineering squad
Help build booking and finance products used by consumers researching and booking care

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience
At least 1+ year in leading a team
Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in Python, Node.js, TypeScript, or similar
Familiarity with PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA
Experience with AWS or similar cloud infrastructure
Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge of CI/CD best practices
Ability to set technical direction, unblock engineers, and raise standards through reviews and mentorship
Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to accelerate code delivery and improve quality
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience with experimentation and growth engineering, including A/B testing, funnel optimization, and conversion instrumentation
Previous work in consumer marketplaces, Martech, or healthcare tech
Hands-on experience with consumer financing providers such as Cherry, PatientFi, or CareCredit (bonus)
Experience building booking, scheduling, or marketplace systems at scale (bonus)
