About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work alongside nursing staff and psychiatry staff, with the ability to perform either position’s tasks
  • Perform initial psychiatric evaluations within 60 minutes
  • Perform medication management follow-ups within 20 minutes
  • Complete documentation within 48 hours
  • Complete refer-out forms within 24 hours when patients need a higher level of care
  • Complete record requests within 30 days of receipt
  • Log into initial psychiatric evaluations 10 minutes before scheduled appointments and medication management appointments within 5 minutes of scheduled time
  • Check the NJ PMP at least every 90 days when prescribing controlled substances
  • Attend a weekly one-hour Clinical Team Meeting
  • Perform onsite and virtual initial psychiatric evaluations
  • Prescribe medications during virtual and onsite follow-up medication management appointments
  • Provide client refills within 2–3 business days and periodically cover refill requests for absent providers
  • Respond to urgent Medical Assistant messages the same business day and non-urgent messages within two business days
  • Case conference with the Chief Medical Officer/Medical Director, Collaborating Physician, Director of Nursing, Clinical Director, therapists, nursing staff, and psychiatric staff
  • Refer patients to appropriate levels of care when necessary
  • Attend scheduled supervisions
  • Complete and maintain accurate patient records, including intake assessments, progress notes, treatment notes, termination notes, contract notes, and other required forms
  • Assist and cover other staff when necessary to maintain department productivity and efficiency
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Use computers, telephones, printers, fax machines, company network, email, Microsoft Office, and electronic health record software

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s in Nursing and Post Master’s Program in Advanced Practice Role
  • Current and unrestricted license
  • 1 year experience as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required
  • Current CPR Certification
  • PMHNP Narcan Certified
  • Current active and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area
  • Current active DEA
  • Current active CDS if the State you are employed in requires it
  • Must be able to read, write, and spell in English legibly and without excessive grammatical or communication errors
  • Strong computer skills meeting Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record software requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and interruptions
  • Availability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage conflicting priorities
