About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work across the stack, with a backend focus, to build customer-facing products and platform capabilities
Collaborate with engineers, product managers and designers to design and deliver features
Build clean, well-tested and maintainable software across Python backend and React frontend
Own significant areas of architecture and drive technical improvements
Design scalable APIs, services and data models
Review code and mentor other engineers
Improve engineering practices, tooling and development workflows
Monitor, maintain and improve production system performance and reliability
Integrate third-party platforms and services
Take ownership of increasingly complex technical challenges and help shape the product and engineering organisation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience building production software across both frontend and backend technologies, backend-focused
Strong experience with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Django or Flask
Experience designing, building and operating software in production environments
Experience working with APIs and integrating third-party services
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
Pragmatic problem-solving approach and passion for high-quality software
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (desirable)
Experience with AI-powered products, machine learning systems or data-intensive applications (desirable)
Experience designing scalable distributed systems (desirable)
Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
Willingness to come into the London office two days per week
