About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build coupled electromagnetic–plasma models of plasma chambers, antennas, matching networks, and enclosures.
- Run frequency-domain, time-domain, and coupled-physics analyses with disciplined boundary conditions, meshing, and convergence checks.
- Plan parameter sweeps and trade studies across geometry, materials, plasma properties, control schemes, and packaging constraints.
- Screen concepts, quantify uncertainty, and build reusable, scriptable workflows for rapid iteration across product configurations and frequency bands.
- Design experiments with RF, electrical, mechanical, and test engineers.
- Compare predictions against bench measurements of S-parameters, radiation patterns, and plasma behavior.
- Perform post-test analysis and root-cause investigations when measurements diverge from predictions.
- Establish uncertainty bounds and traceable model records.
- Deliver technical notes, figures, and design-review material informing architecture and prototype choices.
- Own bounded analysis tasks while maintaining reproducible models, scripts, inputs, and results.
- Communicate confidence, limitations, and next steps clearly.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently pursuing, or recently completed, an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computational Science, or a related field.
- Coursework or project experience in electromagnetics, antennas, RF engineering, numerical methods, plasma physics, or related physics-based modeling.
