About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and maintain features for Eclipse Che’s cloud-based development environments
  • Collaborate with a global team of engineers, product managers, and community contributors
  • Write high-quality, maintainable, well-documented, and tested code
  • Participate in the Eclipse Che open-source community by contributing code, reviewing pull requests, and engaging in discussions
  • Improve developer tooling, specifically IDEs and related workflows
  • Integrate VS Code and JetBrains-based IDEs and related extensions
  • Integrate AI tools into Dev Spaces
  • Collaborate closely with Red Hat’s customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic during the full duration of the internship
  • Must be able to join part-time from February 2027 till January 2028
  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Solid programming skills in Javascript, Typescript, or Java (Kotlin)
  • Basic understanding of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) or cloud-native development
  • Familiarity with using AI tooling to write code, such as Copilot/Claude/Gemini
  • CV should clearly outline education, relevant projects, git.hub account, and extracurricular activities
  • Experience with Kotlin or Java is a plus but not mandatory
  • Experience with VS Code or JetBrains IDE plugin development is a plus but not mandatory
  • Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift is a plus but not mandatory
  • Experience with open source development is a plus but not mandatory
