About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and deploy tools supporting Red Hat kernel development and delivery
  • Enhance test cases and testing for non-kernel packages maintained in Fedora or RHEL
  • Take primary responsibility for developing and testing roadmap features
  • Learn and apply generative AI tooling while managing token spend and quality
  • Work within an Agile-Scrum team covering Dev and Ops
  • Decompose larger tasks or feature implementations into sprint-sized pieces for incremental delivery
  • Contribute to tooling and automation maintenance for the Kernel Maintainers team
  • Write and evaluate software tests

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic during the full duration of the internship
  • Must be able to join part-time from February 2027 till January 2028
  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Experience programming in Python; additional experience with C is a plus
  • Experience with building and installing a Linux kernel
  • Solid understanding and familiarity with git and the GitLab MR workflow
  • Ability to work independently within a global collaborative team
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to innovate
  • CV should clearly outline education, relevant projects, GitHub account, and extracurricular activities
