About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and maintain core APIs and backend services
Own operations and monitoring of production systems
Integrate third-party systems and APIs into the platform
Own the design and implementation of new features and services
Identify best practices and create or suggest standards for the engineering department
Document and demonstrate solutions through documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
Mentor junior colleagues and onboard new joiners
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
Offer insights and present achievements and results in relevant meetings
Occasionally propagate backend changes to frontend applications

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience designing and building scalable backend services in a modern production environment
Strong proficiency in Go
Deep understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database design
General frontend knowledge and ability to perform basic tasks in frontend applications
Self-starter with strong ownership and initiative
Ability to quickly learn and navigate complex systems
Excellent English skills
Based in a European time zone
Open to candidates based in Europe, including the UK, only
Valid right to work
Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience is desired
