About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain the general ledger and financial reporting.
- Maintain payroll and attendance files.
- Develop annual plan schedules and overhead rates.
- Coordinate, conduct, and analyze physical inventories.
- Develop and implement new systems and system improvements.
- Analyze product costs and variances from budgets and forecasts.
- Process and conduct bill of material analysis and review.
- Review and input scrap into the system.
- Independently prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports and dashboards.
- Prepare and review monthly closing journals, reconciliations, and supplemental data.
- Support the monthly close process and balance sheet and income statement analysis.
- Complete monthly variance analysis and prepare correcting journal entries.
- Complete revenue recognition calculations and adjust POC percentages as appropriate.
- Support local operations teams with KPI tracking and data accuracy.
- Ensure capital projects are closed and tracked properly.
- Prepare percentage-of-completion reports for certain projects.
- Review and approve invoices through the automated invoicing system.
- Oversee cycle counting and physical inventory control.
- Assist the Controller with forecasting and budgeting.
- Verify financial data and investigate irregularities.
- Drive improvements in financial reporting through continuous improvement.
- Provide data to internal and external auditors.
- Provide backup for the Controller in reporting and analysis responsibilities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or a finance field required.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in operational accounting required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Fluent in computer use of MRP or SAP software packages.
- Fluent using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.
- Experience with using Power BI.
- Performs tasks in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
