About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Upgrade, develop, and maintain customized automation equipment, processes, programs, and databases for global factories
  • Support New Product Introduction and improve operational efficiency and quality with R&D and operations
  • Perform test analysis, software development, and maintenance of test equipment, programs, and fixtures for product development, fabrication, and production
  • Analyze data for quality issues and develop robust corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot systems and determine root cause/corrective action (RCCA)
  • Design and modify automated test and manufacturing/process equipment using electrical schematics, mechanical CAD, test software, and SQL/MySQL databases
  • Maintain equipment and processes while understanding production requirements
  • Support implementation of Standard Work
  • Perform quality checks and data collection
  • Collaborate with development teams, manufacturing engineers, and production personnel to resolve technical issues
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability/Testability feedback to the design team
  • Participate in product evaluation testing, ABS events, design review meetings, and supplier meetings as required
  • Store final Test Spec and Gauge R&R results in SVN

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS of Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Automation, Controls, Robotics, or Computer Science required
  • 5 years minimum work experience
  • Strong LabVIEW, C++, C#, Matlab, or VB experience
  • CAD software design experience (e.g. AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor, or Pro-Engineer)
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and controls background is required to troubleshoot systems, machinery, and test equipment
  • Experience using precision measurement devices and data acquisition (analog, digital I/O, temperature, etc.)
  • Must be a U.S. Person within the meaning of ITAR: U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Ability to pass vision and color eye test or correct vision or color-blindness through some means
  • Ability to read and work to blueprints, work instructions, and schematics
  • Good computer skills, including MS Office and Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with industry-standard machine communication protocols
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization
  • Preferred: 3 or more years work experience in automation and controls
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience with electric motors and/or rotating machinery
  • Familiarity with database structure and SQL language
  • Experience with pneumatic or hydraulic systems
