About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain customized automation equipment, processes, programs, and databases for global factories
  • Support New Product Introduction and improve operational efficiency and quality with R&D and operations
  • Perform test analysis and develop and maintain test equipment, programs, and fixtures for product development, fabrication, and production
  • Analyze data for quality issues and develop corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot systems and determine root cause/corrective action (RCCA)
  • Design and modify automated test and manufacturing/process equipment using electrical schematics, mechanical CAD, test software, and SQL/MySQL databases
  • Maintain systems and processes in line with production requirements
  • Support implementation of Standard Work
  • Perform quality checks and data collection
  • Resolve technical issues with development, manufacturing engineering, and production personnel
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability/Testability feedback to the design team
  • Participate in product evaluation tests, ABS events, design reviews, and supplier meetings as required
  • Store final Test Spec and Gauge R&R results in SVN

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS of Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Automation, Controls, Robotics, or Computer Science required
  • Strong LabVIEW, C++, C#, MATLAB, or VB experience
  • CAD software design experience (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or Pro-Engineer)
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and controls background is required to troubleshoot systems, machinery, and test equipment
  • All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR: U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Ability to pass vision and color eye test or correct vision or color-blindness through some means
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization
  • 2 years of experience with electric motors and/or rotating machinery preferred
  • Familiarity with database structure and SQL language preferred
  • Familiarity with various industry standard machine communication protocols preferred
  • Experience using precision measurement devices and data acquisition preferred
  • Experience reading and working to blueprints, work instructions, and schematics preferred
  • Experience with pneumatic or hydraulic systems preferred
