About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and grow a team of 3-5 engineers, set expectations, support career development, and hold a high hiring bar
  • Own execution of the observability and evaluation roadmap
  • Stay hands-on with Python code, debug production issues, and make tactical contributions
  • Partner with other product teams to translate voice-agent quality signals into actionable tooling and metrics
  • Own the reliability and scalability of complex external and internal integrations
  • Support the Copilot product roadmap in collaboration with Product
  • Remove blockers for the team and resolve cross-functional friction
  • Participate in sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding
  • Own observability tooling, evaluation frameworks, integrations, and the customer-facing Copilot product

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of experience in a relevant engineering role
  • 1-3 years of experience managing a team
  • Hands-on experience with Python and Typescript
  • Solid experience with AWS, including services like Lambda and SQS, and streaming systems (e.g. Kinesis)
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A track record of mentoring engineers and helping them grow
  • Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or building agentic applications (nice to have)
  • Background in observability, monitoring, or evaluation tooling specifically (nice to have)
  • Experience working adjacent to applied AI or ML teams (nice to have)
  • Prior startup experience at the Series B–D stage (nice to have)
