About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analysis
Align information technology solutions with business initiatives
Act as liaison between the line of business and the Information Technology department
Formulate specifications for operating software applications and modify or maintain complex existing applications
Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems and devise computer programs, systems, and related procedures
Prepare charts, diagrams, program specifications, and coding logic flowcharts
Encode, test, debug, and install operating programs and procedures
Review progress and evaluate results
Report inconsistencies to management and suggest problem resolutions and business process improvements
Provide on-call support after hours and/or weekends where required
Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extraction processes
Analyze and compare large datasets across multiple systems
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root cause analysis
Create reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate data requirements into analytical solutions
Identify data quality issues and recommend corrective actions
Utilize data profiling techniques
Support data migration, integration, and transformation projects
Document analytical methodologies, business rules, and data definitions

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience
Banking or financial services industry experience
Experience providing application support to include troubleshooting
Experience with business intelligence tools
Familiarity with agile and/or waterfall methodologies
Ability to plan, schedule and execute multiple concurrent activities
Actively demonstrates a complex working knowledge of systems and software development concepts, practices, and procedures
Ability to research, analyze data, and derive facts
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Knowledge of applicable testing tools
Problem solving and priority management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, subqueries, aggregations, and performance tuning
Experience analyzing and comparing high-volume datasets
Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Snowflake
Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
Must be in a reasonable driving distance of Hoover, AL, Atlanta, GA, or Charlotte, NC
