About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Continuously monitor and examine activities to assess and report the status and direction of credit risk within assigned portfolios
  • Identify credit risk trends and evaluate origination quality, portfolio performance, and credit risk management practices
  • Analyze credit metrics, conduct transaction testing, and engage with first- and second-line business and risk partners
  • Review credit exposures for compliance with credit policies and safe and sound banking practices
  • Participate in or lead credit risk review examinations, including horizontal reviews across lines of business and geographies
  • Analyze quality and performance metrics, review transactions, and assess loan portfolio origination and servicing processes
  • Perform ad hoc credit risk analysis using spreadsheet or database software
  • Propose ratings and risk direction assessments; develop findings and conclusions
  • Present results to senior managers and complete written reports
  • Maintain review documentation and specialized knowledge for assigned lines of business
  • Advise junior examiners and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with senior management on team goals and objectives
  • Potentially serve as lead examiner for continuous credit risk monitoring between examinations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Seven (7) years of credit-related experience, or five (5) years of third line of defense credit risk assurance, regulatory, or credit approval/management experience
  • Experience writing risk management review reports
  • Working knowledge of sound lending practices, lending regulations, and loan policy and underwriting guidelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to research and analyze data and derive facts
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited guidance and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
