About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze and respond to cyber threats within various security tools according to documented procedures
- Collaborate with Cyber Security and Technology stakeholders and standard owners to document and communicate security risks
- Support feedback loops to improve the precision and accuracy of security analysis
- Review Policies, Standards, and Procedures to improve process flows
- Support threat hunting, tabletop exercises, and rotational Incident Response duties
- Maintain records of work performed, including root cause analysis, indicators of compromise, remediation steps, event timelines, and impact assessments
- Monitor global cybersecurity threat trends
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to document security posture and assess environments for IOCs and gaps
- Participate in and document Security Architecture Reviews, Red Team assessments, Purple Team engagements, and tabletop exercises
- Assist with analyzing software for violations of Regions Cyber Security standards
- Serve as an escalation point, mentor, and trainer for junior analysts
- Participate in special projects
- Ensure compliance with risk management programs, rules, regulations, and cybersecurity practices; support process improvements and disciplined change management
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of related post-secondary education and/or experience in Information Security or Information Technology
- Minimum of two (2) relevant certifications in Information Security or the ability to obtain relevant certifications within twelve months of start date, such as CompTIA Network+/Security+/CySA+, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Cisco CCNA/CCNA-Security, GIAC GSEC, CDSA, etc.
- Willingness and availability to work on a pre-determined shift and rotational on call
- One (1) Intermediate to Advanced Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure Architect/Administrator and/or Security specialty certification preferred
- Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment preferred
- Experience performing security analysis using Security and Incident Event Management (SIEM) systems preferred
- Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK Framework and Cyberattack Kill Chain preferred
- Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
- Strong organizational, research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with malware analysis, computer forensics, cyber incident response, network intrusion detection, network traffic and packet analysis, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, compliance, audit, or cyber threat intelligence
- Strong understanding of information security principles, controls, and technologies
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting GRC activities and documentation efforts preferred
- Prior experience working within Jira and other tracking tools to manage tasks and workflows preferred
- Experience reviewing and analyzing compliance and audit documentation preferred
- Must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- No work visa sponsorship available
- Onsite position with regular full days in the office three or more days a week; manager sets the work schedule and in-office expectations
