About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the development of successful relationships with program sponsors and their authorized contractor clients
  • Validate, enhance, and update program sponsor lead, suspect, and prospect lists
  • Maintain CRM files including contact information, firmographics, correspondence, and call reports
  • Identify and investigate new industry opportunities fitting sponsor profiles for the bank
  • Prequalify program sponsor leads based on objective criteria
  • Assist with pre-trade show planning and post-trade show follow-up
  • Attend trade shows
  • Assist in transitioning new program sponsors to the launch team
  • Review materials developed for new programs for accuracy in program structure
  • Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring the annual business development plan, including annual budget preparation
  • Respond to inbound calls from suspects, prospects, new program sponsors, and contractors
  • Provide information, answer routine questions, or refer issues to the VP/Manager of Business Development
  • Develop knowledge of business development, marketing strategies, program launches, sponsor and contractor training, payment options, PartnerPortal reporting, CRM, loan center and contractor support workflows, pricing, agreements, credit policy, market demand, and competition
  • Monitor and report on news releases, blogs, and social media sites concerning leads, suspects, prospects, and key management changes
  • Assist Business Development Officers in identifying targets and setting appointments
  • Work prospects through the client-focused buying continuum under supervisor guidance using PCE skills
  • Engage prospects at trade shows and similar functions to explain the bank's value proposition and determine interest
  • Assist in managing and enhancing CRM features for departmental needs
  • Begin managing the business development process on assigned accounts
  • Prospect and support relationships with established contractors, program sponsors, and authorized contractor clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and five (5) years of business development or related experience, or Associate's degree in Business or a related field and seven (7) years of business development or related experience, or High School Diploma or GED and nine (9) years of business development or related experience
  • Willing and able to travel
  • Direct competitor experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates domiciled in the Southwest states or state of Florida preferred
  • Ability to travel to Salt Lake City, Utah or national events as needed up to 25%
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Capacity and willingness to learn quickly
  • Communicates in a positive, motivating, and persuasive way
  • Develops the ability to communicate with all personality types including dominant/strong personalities without fear or apprehension
  • Organized, deliberate, and detail oriented
