About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee application development for a large or complex department
  • Manage strategy development to ensure the application portfolio meets business requirements and remains operational, stable, reliable, and technically mature
  • Manage system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and ongoing maintenance for application systems
  • Serve as the primary technology contact for senior management across the organization
  • Develop technology solutions that improve internal business efficiency, resolve business problems, and support business opportunities
  • Create and refine operational processes and systems for regulatory and audit compliance
  • Plan, design, develop, and verify lifecycle-balanced system solutions
  • Define system performance requirements and ensure interface compatibility
  • Support planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements
  • Partner across Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cybersecurity
  • Evaluate risk and control impacts of process, system, product, and service changes
  • Lead a rapidly growing software engineering team responsible for a consumer digital origination platform
  • Scale engineering practices, elevate team performance, and foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Coach and develop engineers and establish performance expectations
  • Partner with Product, Business, Security, Architecture, and Technology leaders to align priorities and drive strategic execution
  • Guide platform modernization to improve scalability, reliability, security, developer productivity, and customer experience
  • Navigate complex technical and organizational challenges and drive change across technology and process

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience, of which two (2) years must be in a supervisory/managerial capacity
  • Experience in a Technology role in banking or a financial services industry preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
  • Experience with modern cloud-native technologies, including .NET, AWS, OpenShift, and SQL
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Must work onsite now or in the near future, including full days in the office three or more days a week
  • Must be willing to work in Birmingham, Alabama, Atlanta, Georgia, or Charlotte, North Carolina
  • No visa sponsorship available
