About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and automate the full accounts payable cycle
- Identify manual AP touch points and implement automation
- Support month-end close through bank reconciliations, adjusting journals, accruals, and variance analysis
- Help build and enforce company-wide spend policy
- Manage the corporate credit card program
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for year-end audit preparation
- Build and strengthen internal controls
- Document processes and identify control gaps
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders on vendor ownership and budget concerns
- Drive efficiency using AI and automation tools
- Maintain financial entries and reconciliations according to US GAAP standards
- Participate in ad hoc finance projects, process improvements, and analyses
- Attend interviews including a 45-minute in-person interview with Leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1.5+ years of accounting experience in a professional setting
- CPA or actively pursuing a CPA designation
- Experience with accounts payable and month-end workflows
- Experience with Rillet accounting ERP
- Interest in automation and AI tools
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
- Ability to manage vendor relationships
- Tech-savvy; experience in a tech environment is a plus
- Familiarity with US GAAP is an asset
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must not require sponsorship to work in Canada
- Able to join the office three days a week (Tues/Weds/Thurs)
- Successful background check and employment verification through Certn
