About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct root cause analysis and execute design modifications, hardware upgrades, and performance enhancements for existing electronic products
- Lead cross-functional product change and cost-optimization initiatives with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, IT, and Marketing teams
- Oversee technical release management, product approval processes, product variant documentation, and Engineering Change Notes (ECN)
- Document, control, and oversee firmware and software modification processes across connected devices
- Partner with validation teams to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with international and regional regulatory standards
- Act as technical liaison with external electronics suppliers, contract manufacturers, and assembly partners
- Lead hardware development, product optimization, and sustaining engineering across global markets
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proficient in Altium Designer, including schematic capture and PCB layout
- Direct experience with PCB assembly (PCBA), hardware testing, and multi-component assembled devices
- Methodological approach to electronics development using technical models, test data generation, and risk mitigation
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript is desirable
- BSc or BEng (Honours) in Electronics Engineering or Hardware Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Senior-level experience across the full product development lifecycle in a matrixed, multi-national organization
- Understanding of product cost structures, Bill of Materials (BOM) optimization, manufacturing cost drivers, and commercial viability
