About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as a legal advisor across the Group, assisting senior team members with pragmatic legal advice and risk management, particularly for M&A and commercial matters
- Support the Senior Legal Counsel on corporate and M&A transaction workflows
- Assist with transaction due diligence, review DD reports, populate SPA/APA risk findings, engage external counsel, negotiate NDAs, draft CoSec PoAs, and prepare board resolutions
- Provide legal support to the Group Commercial team on customer and supplier contracts, third-party agreements, product development, marketing claims, and own-brand products
- Assist with AI regulation, governance, and contracting for M&A and commercial matters
- Develop and maintain M&A and commercial templates and playbooks
- Manage the legal intake process and provide initial support for incoming Group requests
- Conduct horizon scanning for legislation, regulation, and case law affecting the function
- Assist with support materials for commercial disputes and litigation
- Support broader Group corporate matters, including corporate finance, HR, and property
- Work closely with Legal team members in the UK and elsewhere under the guidance of senior counsel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Lawyer qualified in England & Wales (solicitor or barrister)
- Around 2–4 years PQE
- Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Qualified and licensed to practice law in England and Wales
- Trained at a well-known firm or in a major corporation’s in-house legal department
- Experience reviewing, revising, drafting, and assisting in negotiating general commercial contracts
- Technology and/or product development background advantageous
- Experience in M&A, litigation, competition, or other legal areas advantageous
- Experience advising on intellectual property matters, data protection/privacy, and AI advantageous
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across international markets and all levels of seniority
- In-house experience advantageous but not required
- International experience advantageous
