About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical consultation to business partners and IT management
  • Ensure development of efficient systems using standards, procedures, and methodologies
  • Work with domain architects, solution architects, and enterprise architecture to provide expertise in digital products or infrastructure services
  • Enforce company architecture strategy
  • Coach and mentor engineers and project team colleagues
  • Design solutions supporting availability, scalability, monitoring, and alerting requirements
  • Resolve technological disagreements through informed, rational debate
  • Adapt solutions aligned with corporate initiatives and IT strategy
  • Assess technical decisions and key architecture with vendors, project teams, and subject matter experts
  • Translate draft designs into technical design documents and gain stakeholder consensus
  • Develop architecture documents and artifacts with IT and business teams
  • Participate in IT governance processes and evaluate alternative approaches and risks
  • Develop and review business cases, technical statements of work, presentations, research findings, architectural diagrams, and supporting details
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical audiences, including senior product and business management
  • Navigate from business strategy through detailed technical design and implementation
  • Research and introduce best-practice frameworks and capability models to control costs, improve quality, and increase service-delivery predictability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Expert-level competency in at least one enterprise architecture framework (Zachman, TOGAF, or other)
  • Professional IT Architect certification preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge in many areas of technology
  • Ability to rapidly learn and apply new techniques and technologies
  • Qualified expert in information and data management methodology and technique
  • Ability to analyze, consolidate, and communicate complex topics to all levels of staff verbally and in writing
  • Strong detail orientation, follow-through capabilities, and escalation of key issues
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Relationship management and negotiation abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing business needs
  • Good analytical and technical skills
  • Collaborative, servant-leader approach and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in Information Technology or an architectural role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
