About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage North America financial reporting and compliance functions
- Establish and implement accounting policies and standards
- Ensure accurate month-end reporting to Group for consolidation
- Manage the financial reporting process, including Monthly Management Reporting
- Partner with FP&A and accounting leadership on accurate North America results
- Consolidate commentary and complete monthly detailed flux analysis for executive reporting
- Complete monthly statements of cash flows according to accounting standards
- Partner with M&A on acquisitions, including valuation of acquired assets and assumed liabilities
- Meet with Internal Audit regarding operational and SOX audits; establish remediation plans and address deficiencies
- Collaborate with FP&A business partners on forecasts and analysis
- Implement automated solutions to streamline and standardize accounting reporting
- Assist with annual audits and liaise with external auditors
- Partner with Tax on timely reporting and control execution
- Develop and coach staff members
- Manage assigned controls and ensure compliance with company policy using a risk-based approach
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and prepare fluctuation analysis for executive management
- Ensure security and integrity of financial information
- Evaluate team processes and procedures, identify improvement opportunities, and advocate for change
- Collaborate across departments with Global and North American ELT members
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience in progressive financial/accounting roles within a moderately to complex corporate structure
- M&A reporting experience preferred
- Experience working with a large team and oversight of team members
- Experience with a multi-unit organization
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field or equivalent relevant experience — required
- Master's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
- CPA preferred
- Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with leaders and act as a partner on financial decisions
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment while delivering repeatable, reliable solutions
- Ability to work independently and set priorities and objectives
- Ability to prioritize results, identify next steps, meet deadlines, and achieve desired results
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
