About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify pest infestations, damage, and entry points
Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, while adhering to safety standards
Educate customers on pest prevention and advise them on reducing future infestation risks
Build customer relationships and schedule and confirm appointments
Assist with sales to current customers and expand products to new customers
Maintain, stock, and ensure proper working condition of pest control equipment
Comply with local, state, and federal pest control and safety regulations
Drive and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle
Perform work in customer residences, properties, and places of business, often unsupervised
Access and handle company and customer records, regulated chemicals, and company equipment
Resolve conflicts and disputes in a non-violent and non-disruptive manner
Work with colleagues, vendors, and customers

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence
Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations
Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed
Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control
Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
Basic math skills to follow instructions for mixing product labels
Customer-facing experience preferred
Clean-shaven face for respirator seal
Ability to work in confined spaces and around animals, insects, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals
Ability to work inside and outside in the local climate
Ability to regularly sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including an OSHA-compliant respirator
Must safely operate a company vehicle on public streets
