About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect residential properties for pest infestations, damage, and entry points
- Identify pest types and determine appropriate treatment approaches
- Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps
- Educate customers on pest prevention and reducing future infestation risks
- Build customer relationships and schedule and confirm appointments
- Assist with sales to current customers and expand products to new customers
- Maintain, stock, and verify pest control equipment
- Comply with local, state, and federal pest control and safety regulations
- Drive and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle
- Perform pest management services for residential customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence
- Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by the employer)
- Available to work Monday–Friday and weekends as needed
- Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control
- Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills, including following instructions for mixing products from labels
- Customer-facing experience preferred
- Clean-shaven face required for respirator/rebreather fit
- Ability to work in tight, confined spaces
- Ability to work around animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals
- Ability to work inside and outside in the local climate
- Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including an OSHA-compliant respirator
