About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell upstream and downstream processing solutions to new and existing customers
  • Drive sales opportunities directly with customers to meet or exceed sales and profitability targets
  • Develop and execute a Territory Sales Plan with the District Sales Manager
  • Develop the opportunity pipeline using a CRM
  • Lead sales negotiations with technical and procurement departments
  • Establish and maintain strategic and key account relationships
  • Prospect and develop new target accounts across New Jersey, New York, and Delaware
  • Support customers from lab-scale through full process-scale solutions
  • Share product, market, and competitive information with Business and Market Development
  • Support development of sales collateral
  • Provide Manufacturing and QA/QC with information for forecasting, complaint handling, and facility audits
  • Execute field sales activities including customer visits, technical presentations, quote preparation, and negotiation
  • Attend, manage, and follow up on trade show activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A minimum of a BSc degree+ in a scientific discipline or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical or life science industries
  • Strong understanding of Cell Culture, Chromatography, and Filtration
  • Understanding of upstream and downstream processing is beneficial
  • Proven successful sales track record and key account management experience
  • Proven ability to build mutually beneficial, personable, trusting relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory
