About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor infrastructure performance and recommend improvements to ensure high availability
- Serve as a team-level escalation point for technical issues
- Participate in implementing solutions and strategies
- Configure and troubleshoot application servers and their software with Storage & Virtualization Engineers
- Participate in application deployment, maintenance, and upgrades
- Perform service pack installations, hot fixes, and software upgrades
- Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes
- Test and evaluate new technologies for compatibility and functionality
- Follow change and incident management policies and procedures
- Stay current on industry trends and recommend future initiatives
- Oversee server build-outs, monitoring, patch and security updates, antivirus, backups, restores, asset management, 24x7 support, and pager duty
- Act as a liaison with vendors, development groups, internal customers, corporate IT staff, and vendor IT staff
- Support enterprise physical and virtual environments on cloud and on-premises platforms
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–4 years of experience managing and supporting IT Infrastructure in a mid-to-large scale Enterprise Environment data center environment
- Knowledge of server/storage hardware and protocols (NFS, iSCSI)
- Demonstrated scripting and automation skills (Perl, Bash, PHP, Puppet, Chef, Salt, etc.)
- Basic understanding of security concepts, including Active Directory, NTFS permissions, security auditing, security user contexts, and application layer vulnerabilities
- Understanding of cloud storage, network, and hardware technologies
- Candidates should be located within commuting distance of Phoenix, AZ
