About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise Lead Operators, Operators and/or General Laborers contributing to efficient landfill operation.
- Ensure adherence to fill sequencing plans and achievement of density goals.
- Operate the landfill consistently with applicable permit requirements.
- Work with the Operations Manager and General Manager to implement tactical initiatives and achieve budget goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting and ethics standards.
- Lead accident prevention and safety programs.
- Partner with maintenance to keep equipment operational and compliant with safety standards.
- Resolve unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns and schedule changes through timely stakeholder communication.
- Interact with customers to resolve issues and improve customer experience.
- Establish productivity goals and manage labor hours and disposal expenses.
- Execute operational plans to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
- Support fleet quality and maintenance operations.
- Create a collaborative team environment and drive employee engagement.
- Develop team talent, understand career goals and coach employees for advancement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Able to direct large staff.
