About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and high-quality service to all involved parties
  • Initiate investigations, respond to inquiries, and resolve claims
  • Gather necessary information from all parties to initiate claims
  • Explain policy, coverage, and the appropriate course of action
  • Manage an inventory of claims
  • Establish initial reserves for all potential exposures and adjust reserves throughout the life of the claim
  • Manage vendors
  • Coordinate assessment and settlement of damages to passenger transportation vehicles within approved payment authority
  • Coordinate heavy-duty and specialty appraisals, repair facilities, towing and recovery
  • Consider downtime and loss-of-use claims
  • Recognize recovery opportunities in subrogation and salvage, as well as total loss
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures
  • Provide input for continuous improvement of claim guidelines and processes
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to proactively resolve claims

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidates must reside in an eligible U.S. state throughout employment
  • Unable to hire candidates residing in California, Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or outside the United States
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on commercial transportation claims, ideally limousine, livery, motorcoach, charter, or other passenger carrier operations
  • Experience handling 1st and 3rd party physical damage/total loss claims
  • 7 years of overall claims handling from different lines of business
  • Bachelor's degree; lack of one should not stop you from applying if you possess all the other qualifications
  • Active adjuster license: resident-state license where available, otherwise a Designated Home State (DHS) license
  • Obtain any additional required licenses within 60 days, including state testing
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures
  • Familiarity with passenger carrier operations and coverage considerations
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate claims data and make sound decisions based on established guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to complete accurate and timely coverage analysis
