Key responsibilities & impact

Develop complex backend functionality with C# and .NET, from design and implementation through testing and operations
Take responsibility for architectural and design decisions and develop scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions
Incorporate the business context and user needs into technical decisions and critically evaluate requirements
Establish testing strategies, test automation, and quality and performance standards
Create transparency into system health through logging, metrics, and tracing
Conduct code, security, and design reviews and further develop coding guidelines
Reduce technical debt through targeted refactoring and drive improvements that reduce manual effort
Mentor less experienced team members and support the team in maintaining shared standards
Take technical leadership on initiatives and collaborate with Product Management and adjacent teams
Continuously improve ways of working and processes based on data
Integrate AI development tools into demanding development tasks and establish practices for their effective, secure, and cost-conscious use

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience with C# and .NET for backend development
Knowledge of AWS and cloud concepts
Experience making architectural and design decisions and developing scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions
Proficiency in testing strategies, test automation, quality assurance, and performance testing, including load and performance tests
Experience with the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC), security and design reviews, and Privacy by Design
Experience developing and continuously improving engineering standards
Experience with mentoring and constructive code reviews
Experience with agile development methodologies
Excellent communication skills in German and English
Experience decomposing monolithic applications into independent services; Docker and containerization in production; Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform; or Domain-Driven Design (a plus, but not required)
Experience in a regulated industry or healthcare (a plus, but not required)
