About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support to clients during weekend shifts
  • Escalate customer support requirements appropriately, communicating criticality and timeliness and confirming acceptance of escalated issues
  • Prepare desktops, laptops, and miscellaneous hardware for customers
  • Keep customer documentation up to date and accurate
  • Deliver assigned operational and project commitments using the customer team as needed and agreed with the Customer Team Lead
  • Perform customer maintenance activities on behalf of the customer team
  • Monitor assigned customer alerts alongside the live helpdesk and respond appropriately
  • Collaborate with teams to meet client needs
  • Organize, prioritize, plan, and deliver work and commitments in a timely manner

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Excellent written and oral communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to explain technical challenges and solutions to people with varying backgrounds
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as necessary
  • 1–3 years of experience as a Desktop Support Specialist or similar role
  • Prior experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) preferred
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, file permissions, domains, backups, and antivirus
  • Knowledge of firewalls, switches, wireless, voice, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN
  • Experience with computer replacement, IPCONFIG details, joining computers to a domain, printer installs, and antivirus
  • Experience with user profile migrations, Outlook setup, and mobile device email setup
  • Experience with Office 365, SharePoint, and QuickBooks
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be able to work Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 10am–11pm Eastern Time
