About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership, direction, communication, and coaching to production team members
  • Drive daily production execution with focus on safety, quality, on-time delivery, inventory, productivity, and continuous improvement
  • Plan, organize, and direct daily activities to meet or exceed established goals cost-effectively
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve customer and operational issues
  • Conduct team meetings communicating plant performance against KPIs
  • Train or facilitate training for new associates
  • Administer policies and procedures and support adherence to quality standards
  • Monitor materials, scrap, waste, inventory, reject tags, and corrective actions
  • Support hiring, performance management, transfers, promotions, disciplinary processes, vacation approvals, time cards, overtime, and training
  • Motivate, coach, reward, and discipline supervised associates and resolve personnel issues
  • Maintain shop-floor visibility and access throughout the shift
  • Schedule work assignments and develop staffing plans to maximize production efficiency and meet production goals
  • Maintain a clean and safe plant and support 5S initiatives
  • Initiate process improvements and communicate with cross-functional teams including engineering, materials, purchasing, and sales
  • Work with customers as needed and solve complex problems with minimal assistance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of five years manufacturing experience with demonstrated leadership skills required
  • Vehicle assembly line experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field preferred
  • Possess a CDL, or be willing to obtain
  • Clean driving record
  • Proven ability to plan and handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate computer skills required
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management
  • Versatile, flexible, and willing to work within constantly changing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership attributes and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • 3–5 years management experience
  • Manufacturing experience with demonstrated leadership skills
