About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, coach, and develop the global Sales Engineering team
- Own hiring, ramp, career pathing, and performance for the function
- Personally engage in strategic and competitive deals and demonstrate the expected standard
- Assess skill and training gaps and build programs across sales, product, and technical areas
- Design the team’s scalable coverage, specialization, capacity planning, and hiring model
- Improve and codify the technical sales methodology across discovery, demos, evaluations, and proofs of value
- Translate prospective customer requirements into tailored demonstrations and solution designs across the Spectra portfolio
- Lead technical evaluation cycles to a decisive technical win
- Design, validate, and document successful solutions
- Own the transition from technical win to deployment, including onboarding and production handoff
- Refine processes to measure performance, improve customer consistency, and show deal impact
- Represent ReversingLabs as Field CTO at conferences, panels, webinars, press engagements, and analyst meetings
- Build executive-level technical trust with CISOs, CTOs, and product security leaders
- Develop and defend competitive positioning against crowdsourced alternatives and legacy AST/SCA tooling
- Develop expertise in industry trends, regulatory pressure, and competitive offerings for field use
- Partner with Marketing on technical content, launches, and pipeline-generating programs
- Act as technical liaison between prospective customers and Product and Engineering
- Synthesize field feedback into roadmap influence
- Advise Product Management, Marketing, and business leadership on wins, losses, and reasons
- Maintain deep expertise in ReversingLabs offerings
- Report directly to the CRO and sit on the GTM leadership team
- Travel approximately 30–40% for customers, field events, and industry conferences
Requirements
What you’ll need- 12+ years in technical, customer-facing roles (sales engineering, solution architecture, professional services, or technical customer success)
- 5+ years leading a team
- Built a technical customer-facing function from the ground up at a growth-stage company
- Current hands-on ability to run complex demos as a player-coach
- Technical depth and breadth, including deep-diving into hard problems
- Executive presence with technical and board-level communication abilities
- Security domain fluency in software supply chain, malware analysis, threat intelligence, endpoint, SOC operations, OT/ICS, or an adjacent discipline
- Experience with implementation, integration, and escalation after the sale
- Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- AI-forward mindset and willingness to experiment with emerging technologies
- For U.S.-based roles, authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
- Nice to have: experience across enterprise sales-led and product-led growth motions
- Nice to have: public technical voice through conference speaking, published writing, press commentary, analyst relationships, or community following
- Nice to have: professional services or consulting delivery background, including large-scale enterprise or federal environments
- Nice to have: exposure to third-party risk, procurement, or compliance-driven buying processes
- Nice to have: track record of influencing product roadmap from the field
- Nice to have: comfort in fluid, fast-paced and matrixed environments
