About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and manage production schedules for manufacturing research reagents, chemicals, and research consumables
  • Use SAP and SAP/APO to develop near-term and long-term production plans
  • Use SAP/APO to maintain forecast performance
  • Maintain proper stock levels at local and international distribution sites
  • Work with manufacturing to maintain parity between costing and BOM/Routing changes
  • Develop initiatives to improve inventory, scrap, and margin performance
  • Align build schedules with forecasts, new product introductions, and margin commitments in partnership with Product Management
  • Work closely with Sales to expedite and capitalize on fast-moving opportunities
  • Provide timely stocking updates to domestic and international Customer Service groups
  • Resolve order-specific issues with domestic and international Customer Service groups
  • May cross-train into other planning/procurement areas
  • May require travel to other sites

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of production planning experience using an ERP system; OR Associate degree and 4+ years of production planning experience using an ERP system; OR High school diploma or GED and 6+ years of production planning experience using an ERP system
  • SAP experience
  • High level of skill using Excel and its related data tools
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Word
  • MS Access experience
  • APICS or similar certification strongly preferred
  • Prior Green Belt certification a plus
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, including the ability to analyze data and structure reports
  • May require travel to other sites
