Key responsibilities & impact

Interpret, define and develop software solutions from written requirements and technical specifications
Identify improvements in existing products and implement platform enhancements
Troubleshoot, test and maintain core applications and databases
Ensure application performance, reliability and scalability
Collaborate with QA to define acceptance criteria and resolve issues
Create and maintain technical documentation
Write clean, maintainable and well-structured code
Work within globally distributed, cross-functional teams
Participate in mentoring, coaching and knowledge-sharing initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience in backend web application development
Strong proficiency in PHP 8+ and MySQL
Solid understanding of OOP principles and SOLID
Experience applying design patterns
Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing, e.g. PHPUnit and Pest
Strong working knowledge of SQL, RESTful APIs and GraphQL
Ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools
Excellent English communication skills
Ability to collaborate within cross-functional, globally distributed teams
Comfortable working in strong Agile environments
Availability to work from the Sofia or Plovdiv office at least twice per week
