About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and develop relationships with doctors, specialists, healthcare providers, therapists, community organisations and other referral sources
- Proactively conduct outreach by telephone, email and other appropriate channels
- Build and maintain a sustainable referral partner network for families requiring ABA services
- Educate referral partners about the organisation's services, referral process and access to support
- Maintain regular communication with referral partners and encourage ongoing referrals
- Identify new partnership and network opportunities
- Own the referral development process from initial outreach through ongoing engagement
- Conduct outreach calls, follow-ups and relationship-building conversations
- Adapt communication to different referral partners' needs
- Represent the organisation professionally within healthcare and community networks
- Track incoming referrals and leads accurately
- Follow up to prevent opportunities from being lost
- Coordinate internally to help families access appropriate services
- Maintain records of outreach, conversations, referral sources, follow-ups and outcomes
- Manage multiple relationships and opportunities while remaining organised
- Track and report outreach activity, calls, referral relationships, active partners, referrals generated, conversion, follow-up activity, pipeline development and network growth
- Work toward measurable targets and report performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ideally 5+ years of experience in business development, referral development, sales, account management, relationship management or a similar commercially focused role
- Demonstrated track record of achieving measurable results
- Ability to provide tangible examples of previous performance, including targets, growth, revenue, referrals, lead generation, conversion rates or other relevant metrics
- Excellent verbal communication skills with confidence speaking to doctors, specialists, senior professionals, families and other stakeholders
- Strong written communication skills
- Confidence and comfort with proactive telephone outreach and relationship building
- Highly personable with ability to establish rapport quickly
- Strong sales and business development instincts without relying on an overly aggressive sales approach
- Excellent follow-up skills and discipline to maintain relationships over time
- Strong administrative and organisational ability
- Comfortable tracking activity, maintaining accurate records and reporting on performance
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and proactively identify opportunities
- Healthcare, behavioural health, ABA, therapy services or medical services experience advantageous but not essential
- Experience developing physician, specialist or healthcare referral networks advantageous
- Understanding of the ABA ecosystem and families' journey to services advantageous
- Experience with CRM, lead management or referral tracking systems advantageous
