About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive commercial and product strategy by supporting the Country Product Manager and commercial department
  • Support the change process into a product-led organisation
  • Translate and adapt global ocean freight strategies to local market conditions and operational realities
  • Lead commercial actions and guide sales teams on focus lanes, target accounts and pricing strategies
  • Monitor gross margin and profitability by trade, customer and product
  • Expand margins, optimise costs and upsell services
  • Ensure compliance with Global FCL and LCL Adherence Policies
  • Own pricing responsibility for product requests, including RFQs and tender management requests
  • Maintain and upload the product tariff framework in the global pricing tool
  • Provide accurate pricing to sales staff and customers, including follow-up
  • Support sales staff by negotiating with customers to secure additional opportunities
  • Manage low-margin lanes and customers and develop profitability improvement plans
  • Determine accurate pricing processes and increase profitability for each customer using analytical skills
  • Communicate customer agreement status to customers, sales and operations
  • Manage the annual price increase process
  • Evaluate pricing structures and identify process improvement opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an ocean product or ocean pricing role
  • 3–5 years within the industry preferred
  • Service-minded with a high degree of ownership and customer focus
  • Proactive and capable of handling responsibility without micromanagement
  • Familiarity with bid processes and practices
  • Complete understanding of pricing
  • Ability to work independently; self-starter mentality
  • Outgoing personality; strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to communicate well in English, both spoken and written
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills and hands-on attitude
  • Able to multitask in a deadline-driven work environment without losing attention to detail
  • Results-driven and persistent in meeting day-to-day challenges and goals
  • Passion for identifying how to constantly improve
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Deep Excel knowledge, including formulas and lookups
  • CRM experience preferred
  • Positive attitude and a friendly, professional manner when dealing with colleagues and customers by phone and email
