About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Controller and Director of FP&A across the cost accounting structure in Deltek Costpoint
- Maintain and reconcile indirect cost pools including fringe, overhead, and G&A
- Calculate and reconcile actual indirect rates against provisional and billing rates
- Provide analysis and data for provisional billing rate development and annual rate budgets
- Confirm allocation bases are applied consistently
- Maintain Costpoint organization and department structures
- Evaluate cost pool and rate impacts of organizational or account structure changes
- Maintain documentation of organizational and indirect rate structures
- Apply FAR Part 31 cost principles and flag proposed cost treatment
- Identify and segregate expressly unallowable costs under FAR Part 31.205
- Apply Cost Accounting Standards consistently and surface inconsistencies
- Support written cost accounting policies and unallowable-cost documentation
- Prepare and reconcile data for the annual Incurred Cost Submission using the DCAA ICE model
- Support DCAA and other incurred cost audits by gathering data and preparing schedules
- Perform data integrity reviews of labor, cost, and organizational data in Costpoint
- Design and run periodic data queries and checks
- Prepare journal entries related to indirect cost pools, allocations, and rate true-ups
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Assist with rate proposals, budget rates, and ad hoc cost analysis for contract pricing and proposals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance if required
- Minimum of five years of cost accounting experience in a government contracting environment
- Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint, including indirect cost pool reconciliation and organization/department structure
- Demonstrated experience supporting an Incurred Cost Submission (ICE model), such as building schedules or performing reconciliations
- Working knowledge of FAR Part 31 cost principles and applicable Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Experience calculating and reconciling indirect rates against actual cost pools and provisional/billing rates
- Strong analytical and data-validation skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail, good judgment, and comfort working directly with and reporting to the Controller
- Experience supporting a DCAA incurred cost audit or accounting system review preferred
- Exposure to CAS Disclosure Statement content or maintenance preferred
- Prior aerospace, defense, or federal government contracting experience preferred
