About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review employee timesheets in Deltek Costpoint for completeness, correct charge codes, and supervisor approval
- Follow up with employees and supervisors on missing, late, or unapproved timesheets
- Assist with correcting timesheet errors and document changes with a before/after audit trail
- Support labor distribution processing and preliminary labor-cost checks
- Extract approved timekeeping and labor data from Deltek Costpoint and prepare it for Paylocity import
- Import hours, earnings codes, and deductions into Paylocity and resolve interface errors or rejected records
- Support semimonthly/biweekly payroll runs for hourly and salaried employees
- Reconcile Paylocity payroll output against Costpoint labor and timesheet data
- Import finalized payroll and labor-cost data back into Costpoint for general-ledger posting
- Maintain Costpoint-to-Paylocity process documentation and escalate recurring discrepancies
- Assist with manual checks, off-cycle payments, and correction runs
- Generate payroll and labor reports for Payroll and Accounting teams
- Support internal, external, and DCAA audits by organizing requested documentation
- Assist the Accounting Manager with month-end payroll reconciliations to the general ledger
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree in accounting, business, or a related field is a plus
- 2-3 years of payroll, timekeeping, or general clerical accounting experience
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint and/or Paylocity strongly preferred
- Willingness and ability to learn both Deltek Costpoint and Paylocity is required
- Strong, accurate data entry skills with the ability to meet firm pay-cycle deadlines
- Working knowledge of payroll concepts, including overtime, deductions, and garnishments
- Must maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive business and employee information
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to confidentiality with sensitive employee data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to prioritize work requirements and manage critical deadlines
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S. as required by contract
- Experience in a government contracting environment preferred
- Familiarity with DCAA timekeeping requirements and labor charge-code discipline preferred
- Prior experience supporting a payroll system interface or data conversion process between two platforms preferred
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or progress toward payroll certification preferred
- Primarily sedentary work involving extended computer use; occasional lifting up to 15 lbs
- Minimal travel (less than 10%) may be required for training, audits, or site visits
