About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger.
  • Download reports and data from Patient Management Systems using Power BI.
  • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, GAAP, company policies, and healthcare payment and financial regulations.
  • Assist with property tax filings and other tax compliance requirements.
  • Perform balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Analyze financial results, trends, and variances against prior months and budget.
  • Assist FP&A with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support cash flow and operational reporting.
  • Maintain accounting policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities and optimize workflows across ERP, payment platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Partner with IT and finance leadership on system enhancements.
  • Mentor accounting staff, provide coaching, and serve as the first escalation point for complex reconciliation issues.
  • Support internal controls, process improvements, and documentation of financial transactions.
  • Prepare audit schedules and documentation, assist with annual financial statement audits, and respond to auditor requests.
  • Collaborate with operations, payroll, AP, AR, and FP&A teams.
  • Support acquisitions, integrations, and special projects.
  • Complete close processes timely and ensure reconciliations have zero unresolved variances.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct preferred).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • CPA preferred or actively pursuing certification.
  • Multi-entity accounting environment experience preferred.
  • Healthcare or dental practice management organization experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition, lease accounting, and fixed asset accounting preferred.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
