About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Reporting to the Regional Sales Director
  • Contribute individually and as part of the team to achieving quarterly and annual targets
  • Proactively prospect and make cold calls to new potential customers within the assigned territory
  • Effectively manage accounts in the existing customer base
  • Sell all of Ritchie Bros.’ multichannel solutions within the assigned territory
  • Close and grow sales through new business and support existing business by building personal and professional customer relationships
  • Develop the assigned territory by creating and maintaining the strategic plan and regularly using Salesforce CRM
  • Understand customers’ specific needs and provide customized solutions through presentations
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to negotiate and close agreements
  • Participate in 5 to 7 auctions in the region
  • Travel with overnight stays approximately 5–8 days per month to cover the territory and prepare for auctions
  • Work primarily from a home office and on the road

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a structured outside/field sales role, with a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to travel 2–3 days per week to cover the territory, as well as up to one week several times per year to attend auctions and training
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience and knowledge of the agricultural, industrial, and construction equipment industries preferred
  • Strong presentation, strategic thinking, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Motivated by the continuous and sustained pursuit of new business
  • Competitive while maintaining integrity
  • Strong work ethic
  • Experience in quota-driven sales required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to build and maintain authentic customer relationships
