About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Originate, qualify, and close new-logo opportunities across financial, energy, and shipping segments
  • Build and maintain a multi-quarter pipeline
  • Run disciplined account plans for named targets and orchestrate multi-threaded campaigns with BDR, Marketing, and Applied Intelligence partners
  • Track market and account trigger events and turn them into insight-led outreach
  • Lead opportunities involving Vortexa API and MCP server solutions, particularly with data, quant, and engineering buying centers
  • Navigate procurement, information security, and data-governance reviews
  • Sell SaaS and API as complementary offerings
  • Land early expansion after signature through additional users, use cases, or API integrations
  • Hand accounts to Account Management with complete stakeholder, use-case, commercial-term, and growth-path information
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data in Salesforce
  • Forecast weekly
  • Partner with Revenue Operations on territory planning, deal structuring, and pricing strategy
  • Achieve or exceed annual new ARR target and close approximately 15 new logos in priority segments
  • Build qualified pipeline at 4x+ coverage with at least 50% self-sourced
  • Leverage BDR and Marketing partners to drive meetings, account penetration, and supported-channel pipeline

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B2B sales experience with consistent at-or-above-quota attainment and a proven track record of closing new logo business in shipping, freight, crude oil, and/or refined products markets
  • Understanding of trading houses, oil majors and NOCs, refiners, shipowners and operators, charterers, brokers, banks, and funds active in these markets
  • Demonstrable success selling complex, high-consideration products to sophisticated front-office buyers
  • Direct experience selling API, data, or developer-facing products
  • Hands-on fluency with AI tools in a sales workflow
  • Working understanding of customer adoption of AI and agentic workflows, including API and MCP delivery of data into models and agents
  • Strong commercial instincts across qualification, such as MEDDPICC, and negotiation
  • Excellent written and verbal English
  • Ability to communicate clearly with senior executives and technical end-users
  • Established network of decision-makers across the Americas is valuable
  • Familiarity with MCP, API monetization models, or modern data infrastructure sales motions is valuable
  • Hands-on market background as an analyst, broker, or trader in vessel tracking, commodity fundamentals, or freight is valuable
