About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform functions related to athletic injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning
- Educate the public on injury prevention, rehabilitation, wellness, and other health-related issues
- Work across outpatient clinics, recreational facilities, schools or universities, and practice or game sites
- Build collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care
- Collaborate with other disciplines to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Participate in care team meetings
- Train and support team members, volunteers, and students; provide feedback
- Provide injury recognition, evaluation, and immediate care
- Design and implement injury prevention programs
- Participate in rehabilitation and reconditioning and complete timely documentation and follow-up communication
- Support cost containment through supply utilization recommendations and equipment/product evaluations
- Promote community health through physicals, screenings, health fairs, and educational offerings
- Identify opportunities to increase referrals, capture additional customers, and grow the sports medicine program
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Health Education or related field (required) or Master's degree (required)
- Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification from Board of Certification Inc (BOC) upon hire (required)
- CPR/BLS Certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute within 30 days (required)
- Recent relevant experience (preferred)
