About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct focused patient assessments, including vital signs and data gathering
Implement established plans of care and evaluate treatment effectiveness
Complete accurate clinical documentation and maintain quality-assurance records
Perform point-of-care testing, medication logging, and annual wellness visit documentation
Address patient care gaps with providers
Perform laboratory functions and monitor OSHA and lab proficiency testing
Maintain clean, compliant, and well-stocked work areas
Provide patient education about prescribed medications and registration and medical history forms
Follow up urgently on lab calls, patient calls, prescription fills and refills, referrals, and appointment scheduling
Answer calls from patients, pharmacies, physicians, and vendors by close of business
Communicate lab/pathology results and schedule additional tests per provider orders
Perform insurance pre-authorization for prescription drugs, procedures, and patient tests
Build collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams and participate in assigned team meetings
Rotate among all urgent care locations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions required upon hire
CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute required upon hire
Weekend shifts
Irregular shifts
Work/Float in more than one work location
