About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work under the supervision of a licensed team member and/or provider
  • Perform validated patient-care tasks including simple wound care, EKGs, peripheral INT removal, point-of-care testing, and extremity splinting
  • Provide age-appropriate patient care according to departmental policies and procedures
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment for staff and customers
  • Enter patient data into technology systems and the EMR, including rooming patients in the ambulatory practice setting
  • Follow the plan of care and perform procedures such as vital signs, ice application, EKGs, blood draws, specimen collection, POCT testing, and splinting
  • Complete clinical and quality documentation according to RHS standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure availability of equipment, instruments, and supplies
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work and patient environments
  • Assist with admitting, discharging, or transferring patients efficiently under direction of licensed team members and/or providers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Associate's Degree in a health care related field (Preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in a health care related field (Preferred)
  • CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute; candidate must be able to obtain certification upon hire (Required)
  • Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification, EMT-B certification, or current enrollment in an LPN or RN diploma or degree program with at least 80 hours completed (Preferred)
  • EMT certification, or enrollment in an EMT program with certification completed within six months of hire (Required)
  • CNA certification, or enrollment in a CNA program with certification completed within six months of hire (Required)
  • 1 year of prior health care experience in a hospital, ambulatory, or urgent care setting (Preferred)
  • Ability to work weekend and irregular shifts
  • Ability to work/float in more than one work location
