About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Remain available during agreed coverage hours for contact by the RMI Global Coordination Centre (GCC)
  • Deploy to predefined medical facilities to meet and greet RMI patients within one hour of notification or agreed timeframe
  • Coordinate payment methods with receiving medical facilities and mediate between facilities and the GCC when applicable
  • Ensure swift access to care and resolve problems pragmatically and professionally
  • Translate from the local dialect to English in verbal and written forms and relay information to the GCC
  • Deploy daily to medical facilities during protracted inpatient stays
  • Manage patient welfare during admission, ensuring comfort, treatment understanding, and reasonable support requests
  • Establish relationships with treating physicians and obtain up-to-date information from medical teams
  • Provide timely written and verbal patient-status and treatment-plan updates to the GCC
  • Liaise professionally with client management as required
  • Use local knowledge to arrange additional services as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical healthcare professional in area of operation
  • Bilingual in the local language/dialect and English
  • Experience providing patient advocacy in remote/international areas preferred
  • Foreign travel experience
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism
  • Demonstrated self-discipline
  • Ability to integrate into a cross-cultural social structure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer/technology literacy preferred
  • Valid driver’s license for area of operation preferred
