About the role

- Gain experience across different industries and develop technical, professional, and leadership capabilities
- Work across various industries and engage in internal initiatives
- Participate in Liftoff onboarding and The Intern Challenge experiential learning course
- Receive hands-on training and project experiences assigned by Talent Managers
- Work in one of six technology consulting areas: Business Platform Transformation; Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI; Microsoft; Security and Privacy; Technology Risk and Resilience; or Technology Strategy and Architecture
- Modernize client technology platforms and support application strategy, development, program execution, and cloud infrastructure
- Convert data into insight and action through data engineering, governance, visualization, data science, machine learning, and AI
- Support Microsoft ecosystem collaboration, productivity, and modernization initiatives
- Strengthen cyber resilience and data protection through risk assessments, technical testing, vulnerability remediation, incident readiness or response, and privacy services
- Build enterprise risk and resilience capabilities across business, technology, cyber, and third-party domains
- Advise clients on technology usage and deliver integrated technology strategy and architecture
- Collaborate with leaders, advisors, committees, employee network groups, and community activities
- Work in local Protiviti offices and on client sites, with potential local or out-of-state travel based on project needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Internet of Things, Applied Math, Machine Learning, Quantum, or other technology majors
- Authorization to work in the United States for Protiviti without sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be within one year of final graduation at the time of internship
- Experience solving problems using AI-powered productivity and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Copilot or GenAI
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to apply critical thinking and innovation to client engagements
- Technical proficiency aligned to the assigned capability area
- Ability to work effectively in teams and independently
- Creative and analytical approach
- Strong data evaluation, synthesis, organization, and interpretation skills
- Growth mindset and willingness to seek feedback and guidance
- Strong academic background and drive toward professional technical certifications
- Understanding of business intelligence reporting tools such as Power BI, BusinessObjects, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Tableau, QlikView, or SSRS
- Competency with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Teradata, or other major database management systems
- Entry-level proficiency with domain management strategies, network segmentation, firewalls, and middleware tools
- Introductory knowledge of internal control frameworks, IT controls, and business/technology risks
- Familiarity with technology project risks and mitigation strategies
- Knowledge of security topics including authentication, identity management, data protection, encryption, hashing, and least privilege
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Workday and system implementation concepts
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity, resilience, risk management frameworks, and industry regulation
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong analytical and data manipulation skills using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools
- Ability to synthesize research, develop documentation, and communicate findings
- Experience working with data for AI or automation use cases, data cleaning, and model support
- Ability to apply AI tools to improve efficiency and project delivery
- Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of the internship
