About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage purchasing activities for components, raw materials, and services required for manufacturing operations
Develop and execute purchasing strategies to optimize costs, lead times, and quality while securing sources of supply
Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers in Quebec and internationally
Negotiate prices, commercial agreements, supply terms, and delivery commitments
Maintain relationships with strategic suppliers, evaluate their performance, and resolve quality, cost, or delivery issues
Analyze acquisition costs, market trends, and cost-saving opportunities
Collaborate with planning, production, engineering, quality, and finance teams
Anticipate requirements, resolve supply issues, and support new product development
Improve procurement practices, processes, and tools, particularly through the ERP system
Track purchasing and supplier performance metrics and recommend improvement actions

Requirements

What you’ll need

University or college education in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, logistics, or a related field
At least 7 years of relevant experience in purchasing and procurement, ideally in a technology-focused manufacturing environment
Strong, demonstrated experience in commercial negotiation, supplier management, and acquisition cost optimization
Solid understanding of the supply challenges associated with technical components and the requirements of a manufacturing production environment
Ability to analyze supplier markets, assess supply risks, and develop sustainable solutions
Proficiency with ERP systems and data analysis tools
Knowledge of Infor SyteLine is an asset
Excellent verbal and written proficiency in French and English
Knowledge of Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean is an asset
Business acumen and negotiation skills
