About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and guide technical studies enabling Design for Manufacturability, including process engineering topics such as particle technology and lyophilization/freeze-drying
- Address overarching technology topics such as solvent supply and disposal
- Advise project managers through expert scoping, optioneering support, and high-level troubleshooting across complex technical interfaces
- Coordinate and lead a dedicated global matrix team in technical domains such as reagents and sensors as part of the process Global Expert Panel
- Drive sustainability-focused project reviews, primarily in Early Phases
- Own key deliverables such as Sustainability One-Pagers
- Represent sustainable production within international networks
- Champion Science Based Targets initiative commitments
- Represent Roche in external expert forums such as the Dechema Forum
- Build and nurture collaborative relationships with global partners across MSAT, R&D, and leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree (Master's/Diploma) or equivalent qualification in engineering, natural sciences, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of relevant experience within engineering, manufacturing, or a highly regulated matrix environment
- Proven track record in international technical project management
- Deep knowledge of sustainability practices, including GHG reporting and Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
- Broad understanding of modern manufacturing technologies and emerging industry trends
- Strong resilience
- Passion for constructively challenging the status quo
- Ability to navigate and make an impact within complex matrix organizations
