About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a resource for technical maintenance and installation of Roche products for assigned product lines
  • Perform on-site preventative maintenance, installations, technical updates, and routine reagent conversions
  • Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures using established procedures
  • Document all activity in compliance with company quality procedures
  • Adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques for complex requirements
  • Maintain and continuously improve the quality system and achieve quality objectives
  • Install and maintain Roche Diagnostics equipment using industry-acceptable practices and procedures
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance, modifications, and conversions
  • Ensure and maximize customer satisfaction with Roche equipment and related products
  • Promote effective communication among the team
  • Complete and document service and customer account reports, updates, and emails
  • Maintain expenses within departmental guidelines and control inventory and company property

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years of experience repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, networking/wireless networking, or equivalent competency attained through appropriate training curriculum
  • OR a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field
  • Good written/verbal communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and information technology
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Specific training and certification required
  • Ideal candidate resides in Maryland or Virginia and is within 50 miles of an airport
  • Ability to travel roughly 90%
