About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage incoming calls while providing necessary information
  • Greet patients and/or their representatives and provide direction as needed
  • Schedule and/or preschedule patient appointments
  • Interview patients and/or representatives, collect required information, obtain signatures, and complete registration
  • Identify services without a payment source and communicate financial assistance and/or payment arrangements
  • Verify insurance eligibility and coverage and obtain precertifications/authorizations when applicable
  • Collect and process co-payments, deductibles, and other payments; provide cost estimates when applicable
  • Review charges in charge review WQs for completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure accuracy of collected data while meeting regulatory and departmental policy requirements
  • Communicate with payers, physician offices, other departments, patients, and representatives
  • Set up new patient records via Care Connect
  • Interpret on occasion if qualified
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • RGMG-only requirement: flexibility and transportation to other medical group or affiliated locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Associate degree preferred
  • One year of customer service experience preferred
  • No required licensure or certification
  • Sedentary, primarily office-based work requiring prolonged sitting and minimal lifting
  • May require TB screening or a valid driver’s license for some roles
