About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation resource for complex EHR system issues, errors, and configuration.
  • Develop and coordinate issue resolution plans for high-impact or cross-team problems.
  • Oversee routine maintenance, software updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Coordinate and lead testing and validation for system changes, enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for complex or escalated after-hours issues.
  • Lead EHR system optimization and advanced workflow assessments.
  • Advance optimization and enhancement requests through governance and change management channels.
  • Apply cross-application integration knowledge to ensure cohesive system performance.
  • Contribute technical expertise to strategic planning, roadmap, and technology decisions.
  • Coordinate team work on EHR projects, upgrades, and initiatives; track tasks, maintain issue logs, facilitate meetings, and communicate status.
  • Perform light project management, including maintaining project plans and coordinating stakeholder timelines.
  • Manage EHR vendor relationships, support requests, release-note impact evaluations, and user group participation.
  • Collaborate with IT, clinicians, administrators, and vendors.
  • Maintain documentation of complex configurations, processes, and build decisions.
  • Support knowledge sharing, onboarding, informal training, and skill-building.
  • Mentor analysts and provide guidance on complex issues and best practices.
  • Handle protected health information in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an EHR Application Analyst, Epic Application Analyst, Clinical Systems Analyst, or in a similar healthcare IT role supporting EHR implementation, optimization, and system support.
  • Epic Certifications.
  • Excellent analytical, organization, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and serve as a technical resource for peers.
  • Expert-level ability to solve complex problems and translate operational needs into system solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of healthcare business processes, workflows, and terminology.
  • Cross-application integration knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 or equivalent productivity tools.
  • Basic project management skills, including ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issue logs, manage timelines).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, healthcare or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to handle protected health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational data privacy and security policies.
  • Ability to complete required compliance training and follow information security best practices.
